Go Cubbies!!

This weekend, Sasha got a chance to meet Nikolas. The results were better than we expected (which wasn't much). Sasha smelled and kissed Nikolas -- which was more than the indifference we had expected. Here the two sleep in harmony.

Here Nikolas shows his team colors before Mommy and Daddy go to the game. Nikolas doesn't realize that his mother has doomed him to life of disappointment and broken dreams. But for now, he's just happy to wear something clean and comfortable. BTW, the Cubs lost. 7-3, duh! Posted by Picasa

Die Elephant Die!

Nikolas just can't help but attack those Republicans. When Sec. of State Condolesca Rice was on Meet the Press, Nikolas unleashed a flurry of blows to the elephants head. In a barabaric rage, he chasticized Condy for the war in Iraq, eavesdropping, and dressing like a 1950s school teacher. His mother disagreed (with everything but the fashion comment).

Nikolas Attacks!

Nikolas is alot more interactive with things in week 7. Here, he uses the moneky as a punching bag. He also can focus on things farther away. Which is great if his mother is calling to him, but bad if his Dad is scratching his belly and belching. Daddy needs to adjust quicker to fatherhood.

Nikolas and Kimmy

Kimmy "travelin fool" Randall was the latest rock star to pay a visit to Nikolas. This was also the first time that Nikolas has met someone from California. He loved Kimmy, but didn't care for the California stories.

Nikolas Shows Jazz Hands

I'm not sure if I can post video on this blog, so this is a test. Don't worry if you can't se ethe jazz hands -- they are there. Posted by Picasa

Precious

It's not easy to outshine Nikolas, in my indisputable view, but Heather Garlich does it here. Like her mother, Heather had that "Baby Whisperer" touch.

The 3 Faces of Nikolas

Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of dining with the Garliches knows that good wine is a standard offering. Not to be undone or left out, Nikolas grabbed a glass, began pouring, and regaled us with tales from the womb. In these 3 pictures, Nikolas goes from happy drunk to angry drunk to passed out drunk. I especially like the elbows Nikolas delivers in the 2nd picture in this series. (Can folks tell that I am tired? Nah!)

Peggy "Magic Touch" Garlich

If there was an award for soothing babies, Peggy would win it. From frantic to cooing in 30 seconds flat.

Tango!

Ed Garlich brought out his tango shoes to show Nikolas this ancient dance from Wyoming. I can't tell who had more fun.

More Cute Nikolas Photos

At One Month Old, Nikolas is still cute as a button. He's also still loud, unruly, and destined to be troublemaker. Love that kid.
